Belfast Tops the safe driving league
Drivers are less likely to have a motor accident in Belfast than they are in the rest of the UK, according to research by a motor insurance company.
The company's survey found that motorists from the Northern Irish capital were 45 per cent less likely to make a motor accident claim than drivers living anywhere else in the country.
"We believe that this is largely the result of greater safety awareness amongst drivers, coupled with effective national and local action to address the issues of motor safety," said Tim Larden of Endsleigh to the Belfast Telegraph.
Belfast was also ranked seventh in the top ten safest cities in the UK for theft.
The survey revealed that London had the most accidents, while Leeds had the most thefts.
Aberdeen was the safest British city for motorists with the least number of accidents.
